Revving up the Grinder's Power | Removing the Grindings Container
Adjusting the Fineness Control | Adjusting the Timer Control

Finding a Krups ''Coffina'' coffee grinder is about as easy as finding a DeLorean at a McDonalds -- it doesn't happen that often. Okay, well, except for when I take mine out after a game of basketball. But I digress. I thought I would put up a page on the web to briefly talk about this collectible kitchen appliance and post some photos I have of the two grinders I own. Above are photos of my two grinders and as well as some related MPEGs. The only discernable difference between them is that the numbers printed on the timer are thinner and slightly larger. Krups was making this particular version of their grinder throughout the 70's and 80's according to what little information I've found on the web. The company website pays no homage to this piece of antiquity. To the left is a photo of a red version from Germany, circa 1974. Below that you'll see a ''holder'' piece for the grinder which was used in the Back to the Future trilogy. Dubbed Mr. Fusion, the grinder was only modified in that the Krups name was obscured and, in place of the clear circular window at the top, a Mr. Fusion logo was placed. My mock-up Mr. Fusion is also included in the photos above as a comparison. The mock-up was created by taking the small scale model version and increasing it to full 1:1 scale. As you can see, they aren't exact matches, but for the sake of completing my replica DeLorean, it's pretty dang close. Enjoy the look around and if you have any information to share, please drop me a line at .
